OLED technology has seen much advancement during recent times and Samsung seems to be leading from the front. If it was the foldable OLED display on a cellphone that was displayed a few days ago, it is now rumored that the company is all set to showcase a 50 –inch OLED display at the CES in Las Vegas, early next year.
While a 50 –inch display might not usually turn heads in a place where just last year a 150 –inch plasma monster was showcased, this being an OLED display makes it that much more special. For the record, the largest OLED display to be in existence happens to be a 40-incher that was (again) displayed by Samsung earlier.
To graduate to 50-inch would be just the right jump. However, it will take a while till OLED displays can match the cost effectiveness levels of either plasma or LCD displays.
